Sacred Tobacco Painting

This painting has been a long time in the making. I started this in the summer of 2023 during my first tobacco dieta in Oregon. For whatever reason I have been struggling to finish it since then. At one point I thought I might call it done but then I was suddenly inspired to work on it for another 60 hours in the last two weeks! Inspiration works in mysterious ways sometimes. One of the questions artists get the most is “how do you know when it’s done?” Some know clearly when a painting is finished, but I often don’t have a clear end point. Usually I just stop working on it as energy shifts and I feel pressured to work on something else. Such was the case with this one, several times. Is it done now? Yes, definitely, I think. But seriously. I’m pleased with how it has developed and I’m going to call it done. I’ll have it professionally photographed soon and have some prints made and added to the shop asap. I hope you like it. Let me know if you’d like a print, or the original!
