A phoenix rises from the flames. She is still in the stage of formation and has not fully found her form yet. Geometric shapes collide and change their appearance, shimmer in and out of being and then solidify in the shape of a marvelous bird, a symbol of strength and birth into a new life, a defiant act of willpower and magic. She can not be kept down and her spirit thrives on.

This semi abstract piece spent most of its early development flipped 180 degrees and looked more like a mountain range than a Phoenix.

One day I decided to see what it looked like “upside down” and I never considered flipping it back once I saw the bird. Of course it wasn’t as pronounced as what you see here. I did a lot of further development, a lot of “push and pull” to really bring the Phoenix to life.
