Patterns In Nature Online Workshop

Welcome to my first online acrylic painting workshop!

This workshop was inspired by the limitless manifestations in nature of sacred geometry and unique creative expressions. While the painting that I demo is an imaginative turtle shell, you are free to paint anything you like, my painting is just an example and the lessons I teach are applicable to any subject matter you want to paint.

I picked the turtle shell for this workshop because the composition of interlocking pentagons and hexagons is interesting and although it is relatively simple in design, there is a ton of room for creative liberties.

In nature all kinds of strange things happen that are rare or fantastic or unexplainable…as creators, we take part in that mystery. Nothing can exist on it’s own, anything is a product of everything around it. It’s the same for painting.

What’s covered in the workshop?

In this pre-recorded workshop I will guide you through the process of making a single painting, from concept to finishing touches on your work. The videos will follow me through the whole process and will be full of tips, techniques and inspiring ideas to support you in your art making adventure. The workshop might take you two to three days or more to complete.

Who’s it for?

I’m designing this course for any skill level, although some previous painting experience might be useful.

What you will need

The class is taught using acrylic paints. You will need a selection of acrylic colors, some brushes, a 10x10'“ wood board or any surface you choose. Pencil and paper and a good place to work.

A detailed materials list with options and suggestions will be provided once you sign-up.

What does the workshop include?

This is a self-paced workshop with unlimited access. Once you have the link to the classroom you will be able to log in anytime, as often as you want and for an indefinite period of time. It’s a self-guided workshop which means there are no set times you need to show up for school. It’s 100% up to you when you want to log in and start painting. Your link to the classroom will never expire.

Of course, you are not required to paint a turtle shell. Please feel free to paint anything that calls to you. This lesson can be applied to any subject matter that speaks to you.

Please join me in this workshop! I’m happy with how it turned out and I think you will enjoy getting lost in the creative process for a few days and come out the other end with a beautiful painting that you can be proud of!

Lastly, an interview about why I wanted to make this workshop:

It doesn’t have to make sense it just has to look good…just make it feel good. It has to have energy and interesting motion, it has to capture the viewer and make them want to live inside your world for a moment. This is why we’re painters I think, to draw people into our world.

I also have a drawing workshop that teaches an intuitive, meditative process to drawing. Heres the scoop on that:
