This painting, called “Civil War”, was a mussing on the idea of two different types of trees fighting over their environment. In this case they are pulling apart a hornets nest, probably long abandon anyway.

I don’t think I really meant for it to be political in nature, although the title might seem to suggest that. I might have also had that old Rush song, The Trees on my mind as I thought about this idea of trees fighting for their proper space and due light.
