This was painted during a five day art jam up in British Columbia, on the Sunshine Coast, hosted by a dear friend and fellow artist.

I had the board on the grassy ground and was standing over it, slinging paint and using my hands and just making a mess and having a blast.

Soon I remembered a day dream I had of the Light holding its ground in Hell, and even winning. I moved forward with this painting armed with that basic feeling; the battle of light and dark.

Note: the white boarder seen in the photo is actually painted into the edge of the work, it’s not a digital frame.
